Pulau Tiga

yup. there we were. in Pulau Tiga!!
so,
to get there we drove from KK to Kuala Penyu which was southwest to KK
heading to Beaufort. the view along the way, was to me, not that
scenic. jalan kampung la, sawah padi yang takla secantik kat semenanjung, the road was flat not uphill like kundasang. it was hot and humid and we even got stopped by the police! one thing is the thought we were teachers. my seniors said that usually yang pakai tudung2 cam kite ni mmg they usually think us as teachers.
we reached Kuala Penyu around 9.30 am about 30 minutes earlier from our scheduled boat. the boat was personally for us and it costs about RM350 to and fro. it’ll fit 12 ppl.
so, the more the merrier and the cheaper it is! the jetty at Kuala
Penyu was at Taman-Taman Sabah which we mistakenly went to Pulau Tiga
Resort’s jetty.
It took us about 30 minutes to reach to Pulau Tiga. from far Pulau Tiga looked like 3 small islands which were located nearby
but it’s actually a one big island with 3 mounts. folks there said the
three mounts gave her the name, but mostly from my readings about this
survivor island, she got her name as she consists of 3 islands namely
the main island, Kalampunian Damit(the Snake Island) and Kalampunian
Besar.
When we reached the ‘Survivor Island’, we were surprised by our chalet!! it has 2 rooms, 2 toilets, a large verandah with two dining tables outside and the kitchen with bottles of mineral water inside the large fridge, a rice cooker, electric kettle, stove, pots and kuali and even sponge and sabun basuh pinggan!!it was REALLY, REALLY more than what we have asked for!we even had a place to barbeque!we rent a boat later that day and went to the Snake Island and Kalmpunian Damit. It was RM100 to and fro. pastu we really made use of it la..when we reached to PUlau Ular,
we turned every stone to look for the snakes! So, the guide had to find
it coz we won’t budge till we found one. He was really nice and kind
tho..heheh
After that, we stopped at Kalmpunian Besar to which was actually macam beting
pasir yg panjang, maybe crescent-shaped. It looked like something from
Pirates of Carribbean! hehe. We not only stopped there to take some
pix, but we actually went snorkelling there! masyaAllah!! if only i
could take underwater pix!! the corals were so alive and colourful! and the fishes were large with vibrant colours! the corals were high up that some of us got cuts here and there while we were swimming!
When
we got back to the main island, we went trekking for about 1.2km from
our chalet to reach a volcano mud pool! it was so slimy and disgusting
and you can see bubbles in the mud. All of us plunged in as slowly
curiosity got the better of us. oh my, it was like the mud slowly
engulfs our limbs like we were wearing tights and swallow us. We were
floating inside the pool maybe due to the higher density mud so, we
were not worried that it was 4 ft deep.
When we got back all of
us berendam kat laut sambil tgk sunset to clean off the mud. Some of us
even had facials done sbb letak mud kat muka! Then later on, the boys
nyalakan bara and we had barbeque with pre-marinated chicken and
sausages. our meal was a hearty meal! we had mashed potato, coleslaw
and maggi mee! eheh
That night, i caught my first fish!! using kail and tali tangsi je!!heheh. That truly was something to remember!
Next day, we had to pulangkan our snorkelling set to Pulau Tiga Resort. It was RM20
per set but we paid only for da price of 4!hehe. we got back after
barbequeing hasil tangkapan ikan semalam and left the place in total RM118 poorer but with so much sweet memories!
