Tenom, Sabah

Tenom (pronounced like venom but replace the ‘v’ with ‘t’) was our
latest trip. Actually, we went there to give K.Zaireen a visit as she
suddenly had to got to Tenom as a ‘Relief M.O’ there for about 3 weeks.
So, she won’t be able to send us off next monday! =(

Tenom is a
city located about southwest from Kota Kinabalu. Even though it was
about 80km away, it took over 2hours to get there as we had to cross
the Crocker Range. The highest peak was Gunung Alab but people say the
hardest climb is at Gunung Emas. The road was winding with only single
lanes for each side unlike the roads to Kundasang. The air was really
cool and fresh so, it cured our boredom la.

Several towns that we passed by to get to Tenom was Tambunan and Keningau.

and yes, we used a map!!yippee!!

We
stopped at Tambunan Rafflesia Preservation centre and found out there
was one blooming! But we didn’t have enough time to go and stop there
on our way back as it requires hiking for an hour. Interestingly,
Rafflesia only blooms for 6-7 days and their pollination requires
lalat! That explains the smelly odour given out by them.

Before reaching Keningau, we accidentally stumbled upon Tugu Memorial Mat Salleh. So, apa lagi??tangkap gambar laaa…

It was such a small place, nothing much, tak pergi pon takpe la.. but, kitorang kan kaki tangkap gambar..

After that, we all pergi makan2 kat Kelab Permata kat Keningau, sambil
tunggu K.Zaireen sampai from Tenom, sbb die kena escort patient to
Keningau.

Fruit Punch, Shirley Temple and Pussy Foot

After
that, we went to Murut Cultural Village. Nothing much, but the building
was REALLY beautiful. On the 2nd floor, there’s a museum on Murut
culture. Actually it is more of a huge place to organise occasion, like
Keamatan or some other events. It is a cultural platform for them.

Us and Kak Nurul, Us and Kak Zaireen.

~both of them are such a gem!~

Later, we reached Hospital Tenom, where Kak Zaireen was working temporarily!Hospital tu cantikk!!!

The modest entrance betrays us of what’s to come..

While posing2 K.Zaireen can’t help to stall her rounds to join us!Haha!

Room for their M.O Relief pon not bad..this was the crib we crashed!

Those
who go Tenom, must visit the Sabah Agricultural park. It’s like Bukit
Cerakah la tapi on a smaller scale. We got RM7 for student rate. The
only setback was there was no stalls selling drinks. So, it’s good that
u bring ur own bottle of H2O. They even have bicycles for rent at a
small price of RM5 for u to explore the whole place!

Inside, there were lots of small parks with different themes. That rightly justifies our 3 hours stay there!
So, we all took a train to go around the taman….

these are the hybrids orchids..

ever wonder why tangkai jering is kedekut? because dah reput pon buah die tak nak gugur!

aksi Kungfu Panda kitorang!

After that we got back, another 3 hours
drive. Boring sket sbb MP3/FM modulator tuh tak best2 plak.. so we
ended up dengar a scratched Kelly Clarkson CD. bolehla.. yg sedap
nyanyi Kak Nurul lagikpon..heheh
