From Health Talk to Health Camp!
me, Am, Yaz, Dr.Wan (from Terengganu but worked for 7 years here),
Public Health Nurse from Sarawak, Dato’ Eric Majimbun, Haniff and Jai
anaemia in pregnancy. It was well-covered and amazingly the villagers
were attentive as they were able to answer questions in the quiz later
that morning!!Serious!!Semua beriya2 angkat tangan jawab and we even
had this lady who was mute and deaf yang nak jawab!
Penampang but boy, the road was really winding and rocky which makes it
only suitable for 4WD.. Overall, the program was successful and only 2
families from the whole village came. We had some ceramah kesihatan,
pameran and medical check-ups. This program was organized by Desanita
Bahagian Pantai Barat together with Kesihatan Daerah
So, not bad..walaupon banyak anjing yang sangat la jinak tapi busuk. They actually roam in and out of the dewan!
Overall, I think, approaching villagers either in Semenanjung
or anywhere, we need to simplify and omit all those words and jargons
and replace it with pictures to convey your information. Somehow, it
reminds me of Dr. Shamsul. He’s a very creative person and i think he
can make anyone glued to his ceramahs.
And again, i think
when it comes to nutrition,we should convey it NOT in the numbers of
hidangan la, calories la..etc. Instead, I propose that we should
explain in terms of meals so that it would be more easily understood.
And it helps if we know the main staple food of that area.
After
a while, best jugak pandai cakap Sabah sikit2..hehe. Dapat borak2 and I
think one of the best moments was dapat borak wif this pakcik, and I
kena gelak sbb I suruh die pergi check gigi and he replied,’gigi saya
sudah habis,bah..’ heheh.
Oh, and not to mention, this was my
first time seeing khinzir warna hitam and putih. Macam tenuk or tapir
sikit la distribution dia. heheh. we were so fascinated but regretfully
no pictures of that.
We managed to get to know some UMS students and also some staffs from
KK Putatan and KK Penampang.. and gues what? ada Poco-poco jugak tau!
pergghh.. all in all, we had fun!
