1. Accomodation in KK

well, we are lucky that we are staying in kak Ayeen’s place (k,Zaireen batch 2000-2005) at Radiant Maisonet inside Radiant Tower at Jalan Tuaran. no rents or anything but just pure ‘berbudi bahasa’ laa.. org dah bagi menumpang pandai2la..

2. Transportation

we moved around by car (k.ayeen’s or k.shade’s). however, we managed to scout for rental cars. the cheapest is RM50 per day which is K.shade’s (batch 2002-2007) friend.that is for kancil la. others yg kat luar RM100 per day or RM1200 per month for a kancil as well. city buses are available intercity and intracity.

however, the parking tickets, mahal jugak! so, we really have to cari parking betul2.dahla susah nak cari parking!!

3. Mamutik Island

Mamutik island is one of the islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman which comprises Pulau GAya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sulug. we went to Mamutik Island taking a ferry from Jesselton Point which is at the KK city centre. to achieve maximum discounts do bring your matric cards around as they usually have special prices.

to get there, there are certain payments yg wajib kena bayar:
a)Ferry Tariff Fee *student fare : RM3 per head
b)Sabah Parks Conservation fee (which encompass Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, Pulau Tiga, Turtle Islands Park, Tawau Hill Parks, crocker Range Park) (in short it means u pay RM3 for all these islands if u visit them in one day la): RM3 per head

the ferry ride is about 20 to 30 minutes for RM20 per head pergi and balik (but we all managed to get RM 19

they will offer you some snorkelling kits for RM15 at the jetty. we took that but i personally think i’d rather sewa snorkelling kits kat pulau mamutik tu itself. BUT, it’s more expensive-RM20 with deposit RM50. bukan ape, yg RM 15 tuh tak bagus, air masuk dlm hidung and all..dahla kitorang ni amateur, melemahkan semangat jugakla!

so in total we spent RM40 per head there.

4. Kundasang.

a) transportation (Myvi auto) a 2 to 3 hour journey.

  • fuel was rm30-40 pergi balik maybe because we had our windows down
  • Kinabalu Park Canopy walkway Poring : RM3 per head

b) bus from KK-Kundasang-Ranau. it will pick u up at the same site. just ask

  • RM 15 per head (from Jalan Padang) one way. so pergi balik RM30

c) Toyota Unser for 7 ppl. again, u can janji wif the driver where and when to pick u up

  • RM15 per head one way, RM30 two way

d) minibus

  • RM15 per head one way(maximum passengers 11 or 12) RM30 two way
  • rent the bus RM 350 pergi balik

5. Climbing Mount KInabalu

so, actually Sutera Harbour has Sutera Sanctuary Lodge to handle all the accomodations there. however, there are some travel agents who gets some percentages of rooms from Sutera Sanctuary Lodge la. but their prices of accommodation might be differen

however, whichever u choose, u still have to pay Sabah Parks MT KInabalu Climbing fees (Tariff Rates 2008). this is like bayaran "wajib" jugakla..they include:

a)entrance fee for Malaysian
    RM3 per head (adult)
    RM1 (below 18)

b)climbing permit
    RM15 per head (adult)
    RM10 per head (below 18)

c)Climbing insurance
    RM7 per person

d)Mountain guide fee
    Timpohon gate/peak/Timpohon gate

1-3 climbers        RM70 return trip
    4-6 climbers        RM74 return trip
    7-8 climbers        RM80 return trip

other optional things includes:
porter fees - depending on how much weight he has to carry and distance that he                         has to carry

    certificate - RM10 per person

transfer from Kinabalu park to timpohon gate
<6 person RM30 per pax return
        >5 person RM 8 per pax return

and the cheapest hotel with heater is the Laban Rata Resthouse mcm hostel tuh which is RM208.

actually, the booking for this place will be our determining factor to go up la. this place is soooo fully booked coz ppl booked half a year ago! but, we are trying our best la to grab those yang last minute cancel..pray for us!!

Andra & The Back Bone - Sempurna

Kau begitu sempurna
Dimataku kau begitu indah
Kau membuat diriku akan slalu memujimu

Disetiap langkahku
Kukan slalu memikirkan dirimu
Tak bisa kubayangkan hidupku tanpa cintamu

Janganlah kau tinggalkan diriku
Takkan mampu menghadapi semua
Hanya bersamamu ku akan bisa

Kau adalah darahku
Kau adalah jantungku
Kau adalah hidupku
Lengkapi diriku
Oh sayangku, kau begitu
Sempurna… Sempurna…

Kau genggam tanganku
Saat diriku lemah dan terjatuh
Kau bisikkan kata dan hapus semua sesalku

Kundasang-very scenic!

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

today, we went to Kundasang! our journey started around 7.30 a.m from City Mosque together wif the boys. i was a loooonnnggg ride la..winding and hilly but less potholes than Kudat.P1010002
the view was panoramic and cool…P1010009_1

P1010008we stopped quite a few times to take pictures..but the peak of Kinabalu was covered with kabus and clouds though..

our first stop was at here…P1010010
kitorang guna timer!heheh. cantik gaks! according to yaz, this was their first stop too on their previous trip to Kinabalu. after that we went to Kinabalu park and took pictures there as well! time nih sumer dah bersemangat ahh nak panjat gunung tuh. yang having second thots pon dah having no doubts nak panjat lagik!!heheh.

next, was poring hot springs which is still within the Kinabalu park.It was in Ranau’s
P1010087 district and the word Poring comes from the Kadazandusun which means bamboo! honestly, we were not THAT impressed wif the hot springs. huud kept saying those in johor are much better! besides, it was hot and humid that we looked forward to go to the air terjun Kipungit and canopy walk instead!

P1010040
so when we arrived there, we went straight to the canopy walk. it was quite steep to get to the starting point. but once we were up there we were like 100-200ft above!! it was kinda scary but it’s a new experience. it was a short walk as haniff and am said the one in Taman Negara was longer.

we were all hot and sweaty, and we walked another 200m from the starting point of the canopy walk to get to Kipungit waterfall. the path was slippery!luckily we were
P1010085wearing sportshoes!i thot of wearing my new Sembonias actually! there, we had a small picnic! kudos to the boys who had prepared sandwiches, fruits and all..thanx guys!heheh. kira fair ahh harituh gi Mamutik the gals wat nasi goreng kan!

our next stop was Sabah Tea Park. we had a cuppa tea each and took pix la as usual.. tapi cameron highlands lagi luas la. we could ask for a tour to the tea factory but it was for RM10 and we were tired anyway..after that, we stopped at Ranau for our zuhur-asr prayer and stopped makan2. by the time habis makan, it was already late so we decided not to go to Kundasang Memorial park. tapi we stopped jugak kat the vegetables stalls. by that time it was already 5 la and dah nak gelap.

P1010095
i prayed hard that it won’t rain sbb it will be difficult for me to drive.and suprisingly it didnt rain even though awan banyak and the biggest surprise was the PEAK!! the clouds moved away to enravel the shy peak of Kinabalu!heheh.alhamdulillah.. murah jugak rezeki kitorang dpt tengok. so dah lebih kurang 6pm camtuh kitorang stopped tepi jalan (again!) and tangkap gambar!

we reached home by 7.30pm..till the next blog!bye!

where else u should go in KK?

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

so,if you want something near to Kota Kinabalu town, try this Monsopiad Village. it’s built as a remembrance of the Kadazan warriors, the "monsopiad" who had fought against their enemies and decapitate their heads, the last one was about 150 years ago.

P1010105
located about 15km from KK city centre, it’s good to kill your spare time if you have an hour or two. we got a student package so it was rm20 complete with a tour guide and we got this free bead necklace, cultural performances, got a hand on stilts-walking, sumpit and all! okay la!!Dsc09130

Dsc09131

it’s great i think to learn about all these different cultures and beliefs as it’s not only expand your knowledge, it also makes u become more sensitive towards other people and well, the God had created such diversities for us to get to know each other and learn as much as possible, rite?

so, till the next jln2 we go!!bye!!Dsc09142

news from sabah!

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

yeay!!

when me,yaz and am first reached sabah, we were surprised by this beautiful aprtment we are staying!! so ikea, man! hehe. k.ayeen sure has a nice place to stay! it’s at Radiant Maisonet at Jalan Tuaran and its at the 4th level! penat gak ahh angkut bag kitorang..the taxi fare was RM27 sbb die ikut zones..

mlm tu we went to Warisan plaza, makan2..makan ’sayap’ which are chicken wings. sedap jugak! mcm sate la rasa die..

and yesterday we went snorkelling at Pulau Mamutuik, one of the islands at Pulau Tunku Abdul Rahman. we took a boat from Jesselton point around 15min ride for RM19 (got student price ma!and a lil bit of ‘wink’ la!heheh).yg tak tau snorkel pon jadi addicted! at first we were kinda afraid and worried la..tapi lame2 tuh ok..so many fishes yg cantik2!! but the corals mostly are dead. so we made a promise to so again to a different place.

Jesselton_mamutik_0000013

we went to Kudat the next day to check out the tip of Borneo. it’s where the South China Sea meets up the Sulu Sea. and boy, what a ride it was! it turned out that we took a jalan that is mainly used by landrovers and all. so u can imagine what a bumpy ride that was! but it was all worth it laa…so pretty that place..
